Vesterhavets Barefoot Park

Vesterhavets Barefoot Park near Outrup is a short nature activity where your shoes stay on the sidelines and your feet do the work. The barefoot trail is about 1 km long and made for both children and adults who want to feel the ground instead of just walking over it.

Opening hours and payment

In 2026 the season is listed as 1 May-27 September. In May and September it is open Wednesday-Sunday from 10-17, while June, July and August are open every day from 10-18. Admission is no later than one hour before closing, and payment can be made in cash or by card.

The route in bare feet

Along the way, the trail alternates between water, gravel, mud, cones and glass. That makes the trip slower than an ordinary walk, because each step has to be assessed: soft, wet, crunchy, sharp or just a little odd. The park is designed for the senses, balance and motor skills without turning it into an exercise with an instruction-board atmosphere.

Families and breaks

The place is especially suitable for families with children, but is also used by groups, schools and institutions. There are tables and benches both outdoors and indoors, and brought food can be eaten on the terrace or out in the park. Children must be supervised near the stream, dogs are not welcome, and bringing your own towel is practical after washing your feet.
