Starting point between plantation and beach

Blochsgård is a convenient stop in the middle of Kærgård Plantage, where forest, heath and dune heath change character over short distances. From here begins the premium route, which goes through the central part of the plantation and further down toward Børsmose Strand before returning through the dune landscape.

The land of the red deer

The place is located in an area with a large red deer population, and the nature base has an exhibition about red deer and the nature they live in. That makes Blochsgård more than a place to lace up your boots; it also provides a concrete entry point to understanding why the area between Filsø and the North Sea is such a distinctive habitat.

The farmstead under your feet

The facilities are built on the site of the old Blochsgård. The cobblestone-paved courtyard can still be seen, and the name goes back to Jens Bloch, who took over the farm in 1757. Later the farm was bought by the Dune Administration, and the place changed from agriculture to the dune planter's work and residence. Today the traces are more discreet: stones in the courtyard, pavilions sheltered from the wind, and paths that lead on into the plantation.
